FEELIT HELPS WITH SO MUCH, USERS WILL BE ABLE TO

IDENTIFY AND UNDERSTAND THEIR FEELINGS

Working with the FEELIT Cards, children will expand their feelings vocabulary, and be able to better recognise the nuances of feelings.

INCREASE THEIR EMOTIONAL UNDERSTANDING

In expanding their feelings vocabulary, children will become more emotionally literate, and self-aware.

BETTER SHARE AND EXPRESS THEIR FEELINGS

They will learn to identify, understand and articulate their thoughts and feelings and feel confident expressing themselves to others.

LEARN THAT ALL FEELINGS ARE TEMPORARY

By learning an array of feelings, they will realise that they have many feelings each day, and over the course of the day. And these are not fixed.

LEARN TO REGULATE THEIR BIG FEELINGS

Through learning more about their feelings and the affect they have, they will learn how to let go of unpleasant, all-consuming feelings.

DEVELOP GREATER EMPATHY

By developing a deeper understanding of feelings, they will discover increased levels of empathy, kindness to those around them.

How can FEELIT help our family?

Knowing how to properly express feelings enables children to express themselves about important things in their lives, both positive, and negative. This game helps children become aware of ALL their feelings.

It helps families, groups and classes have a common vocabulary of feelings and be able to communicate better, together.

Using FEELIT as a game and a tool for greater self-expression, you will reinforce the messages that:

  • Feelings are impermanent
  • We can control our feelings, and have the power to shift our unpleasant feelings
  • We all have lots of feelings each day, and these do not define us.

Remember, children learn better through play so it’s much better to make it enjoyable and fun to explore the world of feelings!

Science proves that by naming our feelings we better process them!

Research shows that if you can identify and name your feelings, it helps you process them better, and feel calmer through understanding the causes.

There are huge benefits in being able to talk about feelings, not only in better understanding ourselves, but also enabling us to seek help from friends and family. In today’s age, this skill is becoming increasingly important for our children, teaching them the first step in regulating their feelings. FEELIT! helps them on this journey.

The more we practice identifying our feelings and understanding them, and the faster we can recover from uncomfortable feelings, becoming happier and more confident.

Four Games to Play

With four recommended games to play in every pack, you’ll quickly see how this little pack of cards, packs in a huge amount of eduplay.

NAME IT. Thinking about your feelings, find all the feelings cards that seem relevant in that moment. Then try and reduce to three cards only.

If your feelings are unpleasant, build on the game and add SHIFT IT. Working through the cards, try and select the pleasant feelings you’d rather be feeling. Again reduce it down to three.

Want to have a good giggle together? Try ACT IT or GUESS IT, where you can give clues, mime, act, or even role play either in teams or as individuals.

`feel it cards'

I’m enjoying using them… I find my son identifies to many of the green and yellow cards if they are in the negative e.g “ungrateful” "un happy”. We are still at the stage of looking at and understanding the words. We are yet to play games. It could be good to have a card linking the words to the four coloured feeling areas? So far, we are doing better at having "time in” using the cards and a 5 min sand timer… I am finding it helpful to explore how he is feeling and how he is expressing his feelings and how we can change and repair. Thank you

Feel It cards

I find the cards themselves helpful in identifying emotions and enlightening in that it shows how much can be going on for us at any one time. I do not like the emphasis of shifting our emotions - its more emotionally and trauma informed to ALLOW the emotion fully, whatever it is, so that it can be fully expressed and resolved. I will not be using the "I want to feel" card for the reason that it would actually hamper the processes of: 1) emotional acceptance 2) feeling safe to feel ALL emotions and therefore 3) releasing emotions and letting them flow through and therefore 4) healing old trauma (trapped emotions we weren't allowed or supported to feel) and learning the skills to prevent future trauma (trapped emotions) I would very much like to see more feelings cards as we love these and are finding our vocabulary deepening and therefore we need more emotion cards - we often look up a feelings wheel on the internet because we need more emotion words.
